1cupstrawberriescut in half or quarter depending on how big they are
4kiwicut in large chunks
1cupgreen grapeshalved if they're very large
1cupred grapeshalved if they're very large
4sprigsrosemaryoptional for garnishing
Instructions
Wrap the foam cone that will be the shape of your Christmas tree with plastic wrap. You don't want the fruit possibly getting any foam pieces on it. Set aside.
Prepare the pineapple by cutting off the top and the bottom then trimming the sides clean. Cut a ¾" slice down one of the sides of the pineapple so you have a flat piece of pineapple. Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out a star for the top. I used the rest of the pineapple to cut mini stars with a smaller star-shaped cookie cutter I had and cut the rest of the pineapple into chunks.
Break toothpicks in half and place them all over the Christmas tree. Start by placing the bigger chunks of fruit on the tree, like strawberries and pineapple. Then continue filling in any gaps with the rest of the fruit. I like to save blueberries for the very end and fill in any final gaps that exist. They also add a nice pop of color.
Secure the star pineapple on top of the Christmas tree with a regular-sized toothpick straight down the top of the tree.
Place fruit Christmas tree on a platter of your choice. Garnish bottom of the tree with sprigs of fresh rosemary. Enjoy!
Notes
To store: Place plastic wrap loosely over the tree and place in the refrigerator. The tree will be fresh for 2-3 days. Make Ahead: I recommend you don't make this fruit Christmas tree more than a day ahead. THe fruit begins to dry out and lose its luster. It'll still be fresh but just won't look as pretty.Â
