If you've been following me on Instagram, you know that one of my 2026 intentions is to host more dinner parties. Not the kind that pop up last minute. We have plenty of those happen nearly every week in this house. I'm craving intentional, purposeful, and well thought-out ones. I want to create an environment where everyone feels connected to one another and a bit pampered. I want people to feel special. February's dinner party was no exception!

February's Theme
I gathered a few women I deeply admire for this month's dinner party (spoiler alert: it was actually a brunch). The guests were all women I have connected with through my daughter. It's fun how many friends you make through your children, and not the forced acquaintances you make waiting for your kid to get out of practice. These women are the kind of friends you genuinely are happy to talk to while you wait for the practice to end.
There were 5 other women who were apart of this month's get together and the theme was Galentine's! It was a brunch to celebrate friendship, growth, and community.

Invitations
Each of the guests knew one person, but everyone had a kid in the same elementary school as my daughter. I tried to mix it up so that everyone had at least one new person they would meet, too.
The invitations were made in Canva. I love their simplicity. These ones were regular ole invitations (for January's dinner party I did a really cool video invitation) via text message.
The invitations went out a couple of weeks before the brunch. I asked for everyone to RSVP a week in advance so I could plan.
When each of the five RSVP'ed, I asked about food allergies, aversions, or other dietary restrictions. This group did not have many food restrictions, with the exception of no pork and another was gluten free.

The TableScape
The table scape was simple. I had a red and white table runner that looked very Valentine's like. I got beautiful fresh flower bouquets from Whole Foods and put them in small vases. Fresh flowers really elevate a space. Then I put long candles in crystal candleholders to finish off the look. I used red chargers until the plates to create some texture and depth to the table.

The Menu for the Galentine's Day Party
The Galentine's Day party brunch menu was designed to be brunch formal, with a sit-down three-course meal. Everyting on the menu happened to be vegetarian, so I easily was able to accommodate the guest who didn't eat pork, and the quiche was the only thing I needed to change for the person who was gluten free (although I could have easily used a gluten free crust). Instead, I bought a vegetarian minestrone soup from Balducci's. I wanted a substitute that was just as comforting as a slice of quiche and went well with the simple arugula salad.

Here are some notes about the menu:
Appetizer
I did a citrus avocado salad to start, using blood oranges, naval oranges, mandarin orange segments, and grapefruit segments for the citrus. I also added cucumber and red currants for a bit more color variety. It was the perfect, bright way to start the brunch.
I served the dressing in a little creamer dispenser. Folks got to choose how much vinaigrette they wanted on their salad.

Main Course
The main course was all about simplicity. I made a onion and mushroom quiche (recipe coming soon, I promise). Usually I make my pie crust from scratch, but it wasn't happening that weekend.
I served a simple arugula salad with the quiche using the same dressing I used for the citrus avocado salad. I served everything with a warm blueberry muffin with pecan streusel to round out the main course. Timing is everything!
Dessert
I wanted something chocolate for dessert (it was a Galentine's Day party after all), so I opted for Ina's brownie pudding. It's basically the brownie version of my chocolate chip skillet cookie. The top of the dessert is crispy like the top of a brownie, while the middle is ooey gooey still. It'a must make if you're a chocolate lover. I served with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream while the pudding was still warm.
Galentine's Day Party Favors
I had these beautiful glass candy jars at each place setting, filled with Godiva Valentine's chocolates. I purchased the Godiva chocolates at Costco (yay for bulk buying!).

Then as folks were leaving, they got a fluffy heart pen I found after my daughter dragged me to Five Below for the 19th time that week. It was completely unnecessary but it was cute way to send everyone off with another Galentine's Day surprise.

Other Galentine's Day Party Ideas
- Pajama Party - What grown up doesn't want a little break from dressing like an adult? Invite your girlfriends over for a pajama party, where you dine on charcuterie-type food and watch a girlie movie (think Pretty Woman!).
- "Women I Admire" dinner party - Everyone could be asked to choose one woman you admire and be ready to share their person and why they admire them.
- Galentine's Award Show - Pretend you're at the Oscars and everyone has to give out a simple award. You could either assign each of the guests to a person and have them come with the exact award, or you could bestow everyone's award. Get little trophies to share with everyone.
- A Love Letter to Yourself - Have everyone write a letter to themselves. Have the guests seal their letter, address it to their own address, and give it to you. After a set period of time (6 months? 1 year? Longer?), mail it to them.
